Job Description

To help lead the response and analysis of insider threat incidents and alerts, using cutting-edge tools and techniques to protect the organization from internal risks. Enhance the insider threat program by creating and tuning alert content, integrating new data sources, identifying trends and gaps, and recommending technology and process solutions. Collaborate with various teams, such as physical security, legal, and HR, to conduct investigations and ensure compliance. Deliver insider threat reports, awareness, and training activities, and mentor junior analysts. Work independently and demonstrate strong initiative, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Respond to and analyze insider threat alerts using specialized monitoring toolsLead investigations of complex and high-risk insider threat casesAnalyze information from enterprise cyber security tools to detect anomalous activity and potential threatsValidate network alerts by coordinating with enterprise-wide cyber defense staffAnalyze security incidents for trends and patterns to identify gaps and propose risk mitigation solutionsCollaborate with physical security, legal, and HR teams as neededDevelop insider threat use cases and detection contentModify rules and policies to improve alert accuracy and reduce false positivesIntegrate new data sources to enhance insider threat detectionPrepare comprehensive and timely written reports summarizing cases and outcomesProduce and deliver case reports to a variety of audiencesAssist in the development of policy, processes, procedures and metrics related to insider threatProduce and deliver insider threat awareness and training activitiesIdentify and recommend solutions for control gaps or deficiencies that enable insider threatsConduct open-source research on industry trends and best practices for insider threat prevention and protectionQualifications

5+ years of experience with an insider threat program or related fieldDemonstrated experience in an insider threat program, preferably in a financial institutionAbility to exercise discretion and maintain high ethical standards in handling sensitive situationsProficiency in various security tools such as data loss prevention, user behavior analytics, file and database activity monitoring, and user activity monitoringFamiliarity with security information and event management systems (SIEM)Ability to perform data synthesis and analysis on different data types (events and log data)Experience in writing and editing clear and concise case reports and documentsUnderstanding of the intersection of IT systems and cybersecurity operationsAdvanced communication skills to report complex technical situations to different audiences, including executive leadership and nontechnical staffAdvanced skill in working with all levels of management, stakeholders and vendorsAdvanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skillsEffective skill in interpreting and translating customer requirements into operational actionsHours:
