Student Information System (SIS) Administrator

REPORTS TO: Director of Data and Technology

WORK SUMMARY: The SIS Administrator is the member of the Data & Technology Team who is primarily responsible for setting up LEAD's SIS, with guidance and assistance from the Data Manager, Network Registrar, and Analytics Engineer. LEAD Public Schools is implementing an internal SIS (Infinite Campus) and this project lead will be instrumental in the effective rollout of this project. The integrity and functionality of our SIS, and by extension our data infrastructure as a whole, depend crucially on the SIS Administrator's work.

TIMING: Contract work is expected to begin as soon as possible. Contractor should be expected to work through May 31, 2025, with anticipated contract extension as late as October 31, 2025. Work is anticipated to take 10-30 hours per week with an expected average of 25 hours per week over the contract period. Contractor will be responsible for delivering high-quality deliverables, as outlined below and in a final contract.

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

System Management: Set up and maintain LEAD's SIS, including system configurations, updates, and troubleshooting. Coordinate with the Data & Technology Team to perform or accommodate system updates, including start-of-year and end-of-year processes.Data Entry: Enter data accurately and on time in the SIS to alleviate the data entry burden on schools. Data to enter will include schedules, attendance, and grades.Data Management: Monitor the accuracy of student and staff data, including schedules, enrollment, attendance, grades, and demographic information. Ensure data is up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.User Support: Provide technical support for school and network staff members, including technical training on (and documentation of) SIS functionalities and recommended practices. (The SIS Administrator's role in technical training would be mainly support, not facilitation.) Address and resolve user issues promptly.System Integration: Collaborate with the Data Manager and Analytics Engineer to integrate the SIS with other systems and platforms, including Schoolmint, Canvas, and DeansList.Compliance and Security: Ensure that the SIS complies with local, state, and federal regulations. Implement, monitor, and follow security protocols to safeguard student data.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on best practices in student data management. Propose and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience.DELIVERABLES

In collaboration with the Data & Technology Team, the SIS Administrator will play a critical role in producing the following work outputs:

By May 1, 2025, the production site of LEAD's internal SIS must be accessible to LEAD staff, and the SIS settings must be fully configured. Historical data in the SIS must be accurate and complete.By February 17, 2025, LEAD must have comprehensive, easy-to-use documentation of SIS functionalities and recommended practices.Additional deliverables to be outlined upon signed contract.QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SIS Administrator or similar role, with experience using Infinite Campus SISProficiency in configuring and using Infinite Campus SIS and a strong understanding of student data management. Experience with SQL and other database management tools is a plus (but not required).Exceptional troubleshooting skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage and resolve technical issues efficientlyAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) to effectively collaborate with other team membersExperience working in a charter school or charter school network is advantageous (but not required).Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel skills are advantageous (but not required).Ability to work a hybrid schedule (i.e., 1 or 2 days in person per week) is preferred, but fully remote candidates will be considered.Bachelor's or associate degree in Information Technology, Education, or a related field preferred
