What you will be doing The Senior Network Engineer's responsibilities include interpreting the organization's IT architecture, business, operations, and security needs and then building, testing, implementing, and documenting network and security workflows and solutions to meet those needs. The Senior Network Engineer must have a thorough understanding of complex IT networks, network security, and computer systems. This individual will be the lead implementation expert for network and network security standards and solutions for the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have expert-level skills in Cisco or Fortinet routing, switching, Firewall technologies, VPN, VLAN, DHCP/DNS, NAC, hardware and software, SolarWinds, segmentation, Linux, and Wireless technologies. This position will also focus on advanced troubleshooting, capacity planning, implementation, and best practice assessments. In addition to the requirements below, knowledge of healthcare and/or E911 environments and related applications is a plus for the current positions. Desired qualifications: Network knowledge of standard wiring and client LAN/WAN environments (NAT/PAT, private/public IP address space, DHCP, DNS, TCPIP Fundamentals). Excellent customer service and communication skills. Spoken and written English proficiency is required. Background in network administration and architecture. In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF). Must maintain complete technical documentation. Ability to monitor and suggest network performance, capacity, and scalability improvements. Knowledge of switch port configurations (dot1q, Vlans, STP, portfast, bpduguard). Experience in communication and collaboration systems, including email, video conferencing, VoIP telephony systems, mobile telephony, web conferencing, and audio conferencing. Proficiency in Windows, network connectivity, and printing. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Capable of producing systems documentation and process manuals in support of operations, like the design and deployment of functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN). Excellent troubleshooting skills are required. This role will be involved in resolving support issues that have been escalated through troubleshooting local infrastructure. Must possess organizational and mentoring skills. The Senior Network Engineer will need to mentor team members on technical issues. Should be able to create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery). Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools). Must have an understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS). Experience with ServiceNow or similar call center applications. Familiarity with access control models and network security. Preferred Certifications: FortiNet - Fortinet Certified Expert, Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist, Fortinet Certified Professional Cisco - CCT, CCNA, CCENT Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP) BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field Certifications with added value: CompTIA Network Service Now Microsoft Aruba Wireless CompTIA Security All prospective engineers are required to pass a criminal background check.
