Job Description

The Director of Business Systems and Process Improvement leads procurement efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives within Animal Health Global Supplier Management (AH-GSM). This role also manages global procurement systems (SAP, Ariba, Aravo) and implements automation tools like RPA, Celonis, and AERA. Reporting to the Vice President of AH-GSM, the Director is a key member of the leadership team driving digital transformation within AH-GSM.

The Director, Business Systems and Process Improvement, is a strategic leader who leverages advanced technologies and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. This role is pivotal in driving procurement process enhancements, ensuring global system efficiency, and delivering measurable value to the business through innovation and strategic oversight.

Responsibilities and Primary Activities

Lead a high-performing team

focused on enhancing procurement processes, driving productivity, and improving operational efficiency through the deployment of advanced tools, technologies, and systems.

Drive process optimization initiatives

to improve the accuracy and efficiency of Invoice and Purchase Order processing. This includes implementing data mapping, dashboards, and process improvements using tools such as Celonis to identify and eliminate bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Provide global procurement teams

with state-of-the-art tools and systems that enhance their ability to meet business objectives. Ensure continuous development and delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve procurement performance across the organization.

Unlock value from procurement data and processes

by providing management and KPI reporting, ensuring compliance with MCAAS requirements, improving reporting mechanisms, and delivering high-quality insights for decision-making through validated data sources, including SAP, AERA, and Power BI.

Act as the Global Process Owner

for Procurement in SAP, responsible for the global configuration, management, and optimization of the system landscape. This includes ensuring that SAP functions effectively across all regions and meets the needs of various stakeholders.

Represent the organization in all global SAP updates and all deployments , also including system enhancements related to Ariba, FINPO, and Apex. Ensure successful implementation and integration of these systems to streamline procurement operations and ensure operational efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams

and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that procurement processes align with broader business goals and deliver measurable value to the organization.

Promote innovation and automation

by identifying opportunities to implement cutting-edge technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), data/process mining, and analytics tools to further enhance procurement efficiency and accuracy.

Education Minimum Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Science, or Business fields.

Required Experience and Skills:

Ten (10) years of experience in strategic sourcing & procurement including management of procurement systems within a manufacturing environment; preferably within an Animal Health or Human Health manufacturing environment.

3-5 years of people management experience.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with people from many different disciplines.

Project management experience specifically related to product source management & strategic sourcing projects.

High degree of flexibility and adaptability to deal with ambiguous and dynamic situations.

Experience managing multiple simultaneous and complex projects portfolio requiring frequent communication, organizing/time management, and critical thinking skills.

Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, collaboration, analytical, and project management skills.

Demonstrated strong leadership, problem solving, and team building skills/experience and sensitivity to diverse cultures.

Ability to work independently with minimal coaching.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Post graduate degree in business (MBA), supply chain management, engineering, or technical fields.

Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and manage the change required to execute.

Ability to work with senior management with professionalism and discretion.
