Location: Bangor, Maine, United StatesMaine Department of TransportationSalary : $21.54 - $30.14 per hour ( Salary Schedule )Office/Bureau : Project Development - Materials Testing & ExplorationLocation : Bangor, MEPosition Number : 02500-0621Opening Date : September 11, 2024Closing Date : September 25, 2024Job Description:This is technical services work performing difficult and moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of lab, field, and office engineering specialties in our Concrete & Structures Testing Section at the MaineDOT Central Laboratory in Bangor, Maine.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Safely working with a small team to perform primarily compressive strength testing of concrete and related tests,Coring of pavement and concrete from roadways and bridges for testing,Lab equipment maintenance/calibration, andData entry and related activities.Certification with the American Concrete Institute as a Concrete Strength Testing Technician is desired. Candidates without certification will be trained with the expectation of becoming certified within 2 years of hire. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate semi-skilled personnel performing testing activities.Minimum Qualifications:To be minimally qualified for this position, candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:Five (5) years of experience in engineering – OR – an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering – OR – a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.Application Instructions:Interested applicants need to apply online by clicking the
