Director of Finance and Accounting

will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations for the organization, while also actively handling key tasks. In addition to managing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls, this role involves direct oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, along with contributing to these areas through hands-on work.Oversee all accounting operations including Payroll, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Allocations, Fixed Assets, Investments, and Revenue Recognition.Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.Coordinate or conduct the preparation of regulatory reporting.Compliance and Internal Controls:

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Audit and Reporting:

Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Lead the annual audit processes, coordinate with external auditors, and assess & apply any changes necessary.Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.

Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.Ensure that the finance team is trained and adequately skilled.Evaluate and manage performance, providing leadership and development opportunities.Support the organization’s purpose and values by fostering community and expecting excellence.Strategic Planning:

Assist the CFO in financial strategy and planning.Provide insights into financial performance and contribute to business development and strategic initiatives.Support the organization's purpose and values by ensuring financial sustainability and integrity.

Organizational Leadership:

Is an active and visible member of the Leadership Team.May partner, support or lead organizational initiatives.

Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.Extensive knowledge of non-profit healthcare accounting standards and regulations.Previous experience with general ledger, payroll and HR systems conversion.Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.Experience overseeing payroll function and payroll database (preferably UKG/Kronos or similar HRIS/Payroll database).Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing, developing and retaining team members.Must be able to read, write and speak English.Must be able to pass pre-start background and health screenings.We work with a vulnerable population, and to protect our residents, the COVID-19 vaccine, annual Influenza (Flu) vaccine, TB test, Drug Screen and Background Check are conditions of employment.Compensation and Benefits:Pay Range: $96,824.00-$122,653.00 per year.
