Supervisor, Merchandise Accounting

to join our Merchandise Accounting team in our Bethesda, MD office. You will review submitted invoices for accuracy and propriety, verifying that they have been properly coded, and entering them into an automated accounting system for payment. You will understand and implement accounting principles and be responsible for a team of specialists. You will report to the Manager, Merchandise Accounting.You will

Review submitted invoices for completeness and accuracyReview processed invoices for payment within an automated environment, ensuring accuracy, and proper codingEnsure that invoice submissions comply with Company requirements and coach co-workersRelease processed batches within Lawson Accounts PayableHandle communication between Supply Chain and external business partnersReview vendor statements for exceptions and omissionsLog activities and exceptionsFollow up with vendors, store managers, and other employees to resolve open issues and discrepanciesHandle Accounts Payable Help Desk inquiries within set timelinesPerform research on payments and outstanding checksComplete month-end journal entriesComplete month-end GL reconciliationsApply cash paymentsAd-hoc reporting and analysisYou will come with

5+ years of accounts payable experienceGood math skillsStrong attention to detailWorking knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel and WordLawson or other ERP system experienceUndergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experienceAbility to set and support deadlinesGood organization skillsSuperior communication skills, written and oralWe offer
