Hope Builders is a nationally recognized workforce development agency that empowers young people with the mentorship, job training, and life skills needed to transform their lives and build a pathway to prosperity. Hope Builders bridges the gap between employers, who need skilled reliable workers, and young adults (ages of 18-28) who face many barriers to employment. Programs offer free job training in healthcare, construction, and child development coupled with intensive wrap-around services, case management, and employment readiness coaching to ensure trainees become workforce ready. Job placement is facilitated through Hope Builders Career Connections (HBCC), a subsidiary company venture which operates as a staffing agency.POSITION SUMMARY:

The Foundation Relations Manager oversees and facilitates the private foundation fundraising strategy for Hope Builders. This individual is responsible for effectively communicating the mission, vision, and impact of Hope Builders' services through stewardship of foundation relationships, grant writing, and grant reporting. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying and securing new foundation supporters to ensure the continued growth of annual foundation giving.NOTE:

Interested applicants will be asked to provide a one-page document describing your approach to annual fund management, submitted with your resume.Key Performance Goals:Annual grant fundraising target of $2.2M in 2024-2025, $2.4M in 2025-2026, and $2.6M in 2026-2027.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Persuasively convey the mission of Hope Builders to diverse groups who are important to the organization’s overall sustainability.Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective foundation donors.Independently research, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from foundations.Prepare grant proposals and reports for foundation and corporate funding.Maintain annual grant calendar.Ensure high quality and regularly updated data in Raiser’s Edge; Monitor and track stewardship activities in Raiser’s Edge and regularly report on outcomes.Demonstrate accountability to targets for fundraising, new funder cultivation, proposal and report deadlines, and total contributions and increased donations for assigned donor portfolio.Provide weekly updates on fundraising progress to senior management.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired requirements include, but are not limited to:Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising for the non-profit sector.Demonstrated experience cultivating and securing foundation giving of $1M or more annually.Strong writing and storytelling skills; 2+ years of grant writing experience.Proven ability to synthesize information into compelling 'asks' that link Hope Builders’ work to donors’ goals.Excellent organizational skills; Meticulous; Ability to self-start and multi-task; Must thrive on diverse assignments and deadlines.Excellent oral communication skills reflecting solid customer service both in person and over the telephone.Ability to collect meaningful data and draw conclusions.Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or other similar applications and Microsoft Office Suite including Teams; intermediate proficiency required.Successful completion of background check required.Must have a valid CA Driver’s License, reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums.Minimum Education Requirement: B.A. required.Job Type:
