WHAT IS THE INDEPENDENT OFFICE OF APPEALS (AP) DIVISION?A description of the business units can be found at:Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:Independent Office of AppealsCase and Operations SupportSpecialized Exam Prog and RefCollection AppealsExamination AppealsThe following are the duties of this position at the full working level:Holds conferences and negotiates issues with taxpayers/representative to resolve tax disputes in a fair and impartial manner.Advises and coaches team members regarding their team assignments.Communicates and fosters dialogue with peers, customers and partners.Conditions of EmploymentTelework Eligible Positions : Telework eligible positions do not guarantee telework. Employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements.Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check.QualificationsFederal experience is not required. One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09:
One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11:
One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12:
One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13:
