Salary: $100,000 - $145,000 per year

As an Estimator for our fireproofing company, you will play a crucial role in evaluating project specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and team members to provide comprehensive cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze Drawings and Specifications: Understand the complete scope of work to bid, including fireproofing requirements, materials, and methods.
• Cost Estimation: Calculate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment for fireproofing projects based on contractual bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
• Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive bids. This involves working with suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiating to secure advantageous terms.
• Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks associated with project bids and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify specific aspects of the project, such as timelines, materials, and budget.
• Project Management Collaboration: Collaborate with the project management team to ensure that bids and projects are wellcoordinated.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records of estimated and actual costs, and analyze discrepancies to improve future estimations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an estimator in construction, with specific experience in fireproofing/firestopping required.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and fireproofing methods.
• Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
