Job Details

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will:

  1. Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to plan, execute, and finalize construction projects according to strict deadlines and within budget parameters.
  2. Assist in the coordination and direction of project planning, budgeting, and establishment of critical project objectives.
  3. Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
  4. Manage contracts and maintain strong relationships with contractors, architects, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  5. Oversee quality control throughout the project's duration, ensuring all work meets or exceeds the company’s quality standards and client expectations.
  6. Perform risk management to minimize project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
  7. Monitor and report on project progress, problems, and solutions to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  8. Assist in the preparation and submission of project budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
  9. Utilize exceptional problem-solving skills to address project issues and ensure project success.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Ideally 1-2 years of experience in construction project management or applicable internship experience.
  2. Proven experience in construction safety, risk management, and quality control.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in contract management and budgeting.
  4. A strong understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant construction safety standards.
  5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate.
  6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
  7. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  8. Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) will be an added advantage.
