Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the company's entire tax operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
  2. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  3. Manage and mentor members of the tax team to ensure performance of their duties.
  4. Review complex income tax returns for partnerships, trusts, and corporations.
  5. Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay abreast of changes and ensure the company's compliance.
  6. Liaise with IRS, state, and local governmental bodies as required.
  7. Develop tax strategies to defer or eliminate tax payments.
  8. Create tax data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statutory and regulatory compliance.
  9. Work collaboratively with auditors and accountants to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  10. Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business matters.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role within the finance industry.
  3. Extensive understanding and knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations, including experience with partnerships and trusts.
  4. Proven experience with IRS, state, governmental, and public accounting.
  5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax information in a clear and concise manner.
  8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  9. Proficiency in tax preparation and research software.
  10. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
