Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the company in all tax-related matters, including audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.
  2. Analyze the implications of new tax laws and regulations on the company's financial and operational objectives.
  3. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  4. Review and advise on tax implications of contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  5. Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
  6. Provide expert advice and guidance to company leadership on complex tax matters.
  7. Stay abreast of current trends and developments in tax law to ensure the company's ongoing compliance and strategic tax planning.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Attorney in the legal industry.
  3. Extensive knowledge of tax law, including experience with audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
  6. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve tax disputes in a favorable and cost-effective manner.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  9. Proficiency in using tax software and other relevant computer applications.
  10. Membership in good standing with the state bar association.
  11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation would be a plus.
