Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Represent the company in all tax-related matters, including audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.
- Analyze the implications of new tax laws and regulations on the company's financial and operational objectives.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Review and advise on tax implications of contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
- Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to company leadership on complex tax matters.
- Stay abreast of current trends and developments in tax law to ensure the company's ongoing compliance and strategic tax planning.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Attorney in the legal industry.
- Extensive knowledge of tax law, including experience with audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve tax disputes in a favorable and cost-effective manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using tax software and other relevant computer applications.
- Membership in good standing with the state bar association.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation would be a plus.
