Job Details:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Assistant Superintendent with a strong background in student housing and multifamily construction. This role requires a dynamic individual who can oversee and manage all facets of the construction process, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising all on-site construction, including the scheduling of subcontractors, resolution of day-to-day problems on the site, and inspection of all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a thriving and dynamic team in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all aspects of construction from the ground up, including the coordination of subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee the construction process for student housing and multifamily units, ensuring all projects adhere to established plans and regulations.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Document on-site activities in the daily report, including information about subcontractors, progress, areas of concern, and key conversations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and staff.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues and mitigate project risks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on student housing and multifamily projects.
  • Proven experience in managing ground-up construction projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and build high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office.
  • A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
