Job Details

Seeking a senior level ERISA and employee benefits attorney to join its Employee Benefits Practice.

Some transferrable business is preferred.

The position will be responsible for a broad range of employee benefits matters, including designing, drafting, and providing support for defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, employee stock ownership plans, employee welfare plans and executive compensation programs, as well as controversy work and merger and acquisition support.

Qualified candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.

4+ years of experience in handling ERISA, employee benefit and executive compensation matters.

Broad understanding of ERISA, tax, and related laws pertaining to employee benefit plans.

Experience counseling clients on ERISA and tax implications of employment agreements, retirement plans, welfare plans, and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements.

Experience with ESOP transactions and advising existing ESOPs strongly preferred.

Exceptional legal writing and research skills.

Excellent analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Billable hour requirement is 1700 per year. However, they also allow for up to 100 hours of PD/BD/firm investment credit, and up to 50 hours of pro-bono work. So not all straight client billable time.
