Job Details

Essential Functions:

Leadership: Provides guidance and oversight to managers of the general accounting, accounts payable, and payroll departments.

Expertise: Manages the general ledger, income statement, and balance sheet processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, physical inventories, and control enhancements.

Timeliness: Ensures the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Analysis: Oversees the preparation of monthly variance analysis between actual operating results and budgeted amounts.

Audit and Tax Coordination: Prepares and coordinates work papers for annual audits and tax returns in collaboration with external auditors and tax professionals.

Tax Management: Manages all aspects of annual, quarterly, and other required tax accruals and payments.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Participates in and produces reports for the annual budgeting and forecasting process for revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.

Team Supervision: Manages staff responsibilities, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Performance Improvement: Enhances business performance by implementing effective cost control, monitoring, and reporting systems, with a focus on profitability and cash flow.

Innovation: Supports continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures, implementing changes to improve accuracy, control, and reporting, leveraging the recently implemented ERP system.

Ethical Standards: Promotes compliance and ethical behavior across all business activities.

Requirements, Education, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's degree and/or CPA accreditation is highly preferred.

Experience with accounting software applications is desirable.

At least ten years of accounting experience, with a minimum of five years in a similar industry environment, such as construction or manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to analyze and manage complex financial statements.

Proven experience in team management.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Excel is required; familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
