We are a specialized division of a larger organization based in California. Our teams are running full steam. The Project Engineer will be on the ground-level as they are building out the new team. Leadership is crucial to their successes, competitive benefits are provided, and there is plenty of room for growth!!

The Project Engineer will need at least 1 - 2 years of recent construction project management experience. Spanish is preferred but not required.

As a Permanent Construction Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, directly contributing to the successful delivery of various construction projects. This role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a solid background in construction management. You will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of our construction projects, including project planning, budgeting, contract management, procurement, and cost control. This role requires a proactive individual who can efficiently handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all phases of the construction project from initial planning to completion, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  2. Prepare comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  3. Use project management tools and software, such as Bluebeam, for project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement.
  4. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  5. Conduct project estimation and prepare detailed cost estimates.
  6. Implement effective cost control measures to keep the project within budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  7. Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  8. Manage the procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and materials management.
  9. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, construction workers, and clients.
  10. Monitor project progress, address potential issues, and propose solutions.
  11. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. (PREFERRED NOT REQUIRED)
  2. Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in construction project management.
  3. Proven experience in project planning, budgeting, contract management, procurement, and cost control.
  4. Proficiency in project management software, such as Bluebeam.
  5. Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software, such as AutoCAD.
  6. Strong understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
  7. Exceptional ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  9. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  10. Certification in project management (PMP) or related field would be an advantage.
  11. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
  12. Knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  13. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  14. Leadership and human resources management skills.
  15. Excellent time and project management skills.
