Salary: $45 - $65 per hour

A bit about us:

We are a small Construction Management firm offering services within construction planning and scheduling, cost estimating and budgeting, project management and oversight, quality control, and much more. We are an industrial process company that helps existing facilities expand. Our focus is within Food/Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical Plants, Manufacturing Facilities, and more.

We are looking for someone local to Chicago who will come on board for 6 months to help us run a project on site. If this individual is open to travel, this could open the door for more opportunity.

If you are on the engineering side (Process Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer) and want to test your skillset in a different setting, we would be a great company to pursue.

Are you a seasoned within the Engineering space looking to make a dive into more Construction Management? We are currently seeking a talented Consulting Construction Manager for a contract role in the city of Chicago. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is adept at managing complex construction projects, and has a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Engineering industry, with proficiency in Primavera, BlueBeam, and/or Procore. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals and make a significant impact on various construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing all phases of construction projects from initial planning to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  2. Utilizing project management tools such as Primavera, BlueBeam, and Procore to effectively manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  3. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists, providing expert consultation and guidance.
  4. Identifying potential risks and developing risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  5. Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure clear communication and seamless project execution.
  6. Ensuring all construction activities comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
  7. Preparing and presenting project updates and progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineering, or a related (Engineering) field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Engineering.
  3. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera, BlueBeam, and Procore is a plus.
  4. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  7. Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  9. Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or Construction Management (CCM) would be considered an asset.
