Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 per year

As a Senior Accountant or Controller, you will monitor the company’s financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage day to day accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with risk management and must be familiar with construction accounting. Ultimately, you will make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Document, monitor and update accounting policies
• Responsible for GL reconciliation and month-end close
• Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments
• Set and track financial KPIs
• Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems
• Perform internal audits and assist with external audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
• Oversee weekly payroll and submit certified payroll
• Supervise staff of 4

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction accounting
• Thought/idea generator
• Work experience as a Sub Contractor in Construction as a Controller or role w/ similar construction experience
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job costing functions
• Experience with cash management
• Good knowledge of accounting software
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
