Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a seasoned Staff Accountant with 2-3 years of experience for a permanent HYBRID REMOTE position in the Acquisitions industry. This role will play a pivotal part in our finance team, handling all aspects of property accounting, financial reporting, and cash management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Year End Close, Accounting, Reconciliations and Financial Reporting. This role is a unique opportunity to blend remote work with occasional in-office collaboration, providing the perfect balance of flexibility and team engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of property accounting, including the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Review and analyze property and portfolio level general ledger accounts for variances and trends.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports - prepare monthly journal entries, financial statement preparation/reconciliation, and provide financial reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and other relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Interact with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
- Oversee cash management procedures, including funds transfer and allocation, deposit tracking, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3+ years of experience in Accounting.
- Solid understanding of GAAP.
- Proven experience in Year End Close, Government Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
- Strong cash management skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a hybrid remote work environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country where this job is located, without employer sponsorship.
