Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Handle a caseload of personal injury cases from intake to resolution, ensuring thorough investigation, legal analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Client Representation: Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, advocating for their best interests and maximizing compensation.
  • Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategy, staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents.
  • Document Preparation: Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents necessary for case progression.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case developments, address concerns, and provide legal advice.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients, while preparing cases for trial if necessary.
  • Compliance: Ensure all legal actions and strategies comply with ethical standards and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the Louisiana State Bar and eligible to practice law in New Orleans.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing personal injury law, with a proven track record of successful case outcomes.
  • Skills:
  • Strong litigation skills, including trial experience.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and drafting legal documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling a variety of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death.
  • Familiarity with Louisiana personal injury laws and local court procedures.
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the New Orleans area is a plus.
