Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year

We are a larger automotive dealership offering new and used cars in South Dakota.

Responsibilities:

As an Automotive Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the financial and accounting operations of the business, ensuring all transactions are accurate and timely.
2. Managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
3. Preparing and managing monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts to assist with strategic planning and decision making.
4. Ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
5. Managing cash flow and preparing cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
6. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
7. Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and assist in the attainment of the company's strategic goals.
8. Providing financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, etc. when necessary.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive sales industry.
3. Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and month-end and year-end close processes.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. A proactive approach to work, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
