We are seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Controller to join our team in the Finance industry. This individual will play a pivotal role in the financial management of our company, contributing to our strategic financial plans and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial data. This position is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who is passionate about financial analysis, accounting, and data-driven decision making. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of both accounts receivable and payable, and a proven track record in the financial sector.

Responsibilities:

As a Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
  2. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
  3. Conducting detailed financial analysis to provide insight into company performance and inform decision-making processes.
  4. Developing and maintaining financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  5. Coordinating the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  6. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  7. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  8. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  9. Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Finance industry.
  3. Deep knowledge of financial analysis, financial accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  4. Proven experience with financial statement preparation and budgeting.
  5. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  6. Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
  7. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage a team.
  8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
  9. The ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
  10. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
