Job Details:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and wants to make a significant impact on the financial health of our organization. As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements for internal and external use, while ensuring that the reports, filings, and documentation comply with the company's regulations, professional standards, and GAAP reporting guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • lead in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes, in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Work closely with external auditors during the financial audit process.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support to all company departments.
  • Assist in acquisitions and the implementation of financial systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
  • Drive process improvements for more efficient and streamlined monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, treasury and conduct periodic audits.
  • Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit and other segment audits.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with financial reporting and financial audit.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with senior management and across functions to drive change and implement best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the Controller, the responsibility for finance.
