Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will play a crucial role in managing the organization's tax operations. This will include managing and mentoring a team of accountants.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the preparation and filing of all corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
  2. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability.
  3. Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities, liaising with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
  4. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, advising senior management on the tax implications of business decisions.
  5. Review and approve tax-related journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of tax-related financial reporting.
  6. Mentor and guide junior tax accountants, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development within the tax department.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
  8. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, incorporating tax considerations as appropriate.
  9. Evaluate current tax processes and controls, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  3. Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
  4. Proven experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns, and managing tax audits.
  5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax information and make informed decisions.
  6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
  7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  8. Proficiency in tax software Lacerte and Microsoft Office Suite
  9. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical business practices.
