We are seeking an experienced Consulting Contract Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role calls for a detail-oriented individual who possesses a comprehensive understanding of medical billing, healthcare reimbursement, collections, and invoicing. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing and executing all aspects of medical billing, from patient admission to payment collection. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Contract Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  1. Managing all aspects of patient billing, from admission to collections, ensuring that all processes are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Reviewing and submitting invoices and electronic claims for services provided to patients.
  3. Performing regular audits to ensure that invoices are accurate and that all necessary documentation is included.
  4. Working closely with insurance companies to expedite claims processing and to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
  5. Maintaining a thorough understanding of the insurance claim process, including the various insurance plans, codes, billing regulations, and compliance requirements.
  6. Providing excellent customer service to patients by answering their billing questions and resolving any issues or disputes in a professional and courteous manner.
  7. Working with the collections department to manage and resolve unpaid accounts, including initiating collections procedures for delinquent accounts.
  8. Keeping up-to-date with current coding and billing trends and regulations to ensure compliance and to maximize reimbursement.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Consulting Contract Medical Billing Specialist position, the candidate must possess the following:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, collections, and invoicing in the healthcare industry.
  2. A strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and the overall billing process.
  3. Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health records systems.
  4. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify billing errors and discrepancies and to resolve them effectively.
  6. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and to implement effective solutions.
  8. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy laws.
