Job Details

We are seeking an experience Legal Assistant to support our family law practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience with family law proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials and court proceedings.
  • Handling complex tasks that are critical to the success of our law offices, such as preparing legal documents and correspondence.
  • Managing the day-to-day case management, including maintaining client files, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
  • Providing high-quality transcription services, converting verbal statements into written form for case documentation.
  • Conducting legal research, including statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
  • Preparing and formatting legal and management reports.
  • Liaising with clients to schedule meetings, gather information, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ensuring all legal documents are correctly filed with the courts in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably within a family law environment.
  • Proficiency in transcription with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures and protocols, and court systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A paralegal certification would be a bonus.
