Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Financial Controls Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on financial controls, reporting, and compliance. This position is permanent and offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, with a focus on improving financial processes and controls across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the design, implementation, and documentation of accounting and financial reporting process controls to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  2. Drive the company-wide monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  3. Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all balances are appropriately supported and explained.
  4. Facilitate the mid-year, interim, and year-end external audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing all necessary documentation.
  5. Conduct technical IFRS research to provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
  6. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  7. Collaborate with various departments to improve financial processes and controls, identifying areas of risk and implementing mitigation strategies.
  8. Utilize SAP FICO to manage financial data and generate reports.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required.
  3. A minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the Construction industry.
  4. Extensive experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  5. Proven experience in public accounting.
  6. Strong experience with SAP FICO.
  7. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and document accounting and financial reporting process controls.
  8. Experience managing company-wide monthly close processes and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations.
  9. Proven ability to facilitate external audit processes.
  10. Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct technical IFRS research.
  11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
  12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
