If selected, you will perform a range of public affairs and community outreach duties that involve the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). Typical work assignments will include:Working with Assistant United States Attorneys to draft and/or review press releases regarding cases, matters and other initiatives of the USAO in order to inform and educate the public about the work of the USAO.Creating and executing campaigns to enhance understanding of the United States Attorney's Office's initiatives.Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with print and broadcast media representatives.Preparing magazine and newspaper articles, brochures, news releases, booklets etc., for publication and dissemination.Arranging and coordinating for press conferences.Conducting special events, workshops, meetings and seminars.Creating and facilitating presentations to a variety of audiences.Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.Salary

$101,121 - $131,452/yearConditions of Employment

You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. GS-12:

To be qualified at the GS-12 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in Federal service as defined below.

Specialized experience

is defined performing the following types of duties: planning, organizing, and executing complex, controversial and diverse communication strategies to carry out affairs activities and to promote program and or services of an organization; experience independently writing, editing, and preparing communications materials (i.e., news releases, fact sheets, brochures, blogs, web pages, etc.) related to crime, law enforcement actions, legislation, trials, and court decisions; experience managing, editing and recommending approval of daily content and interactions on social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.); experience interacting with the public and the news media on behalf of an organization; and advising senior level management on communication needs.Required Documents
