Salary: $135,000 - $185,000 per year

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases
  • Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses
  • Present and summarize cases to judges and juries
  • Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case
  • Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting a lawsuit

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing
  • 3+ years experience in public procurement, construction contract negotiation, or dispute resolution
  • Solid understanding of complex legal concepts and terminology related to business, property, and construction law
  • Experience working with educational institutions or public works agencies is a plus
