Job Details

Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting areas, including but not limited to month-end close, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, and related internal reporting.

Manage the preparation of quarterly and year-end SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K), encompassing financial and business sections, risk factors, footnotes, MD&A, iXBRL tagging, and management review.

Ensure compliance with all SEC, GAAP, FASB rules and regulations, and corporate policies.

Design, implement, and maintain internal control processes in accordance with SOX.

Assist in developing the FP&A function to support organizational growth.

Prepare and manage monthly and annual operating budgets.

Collaborate with business units to accurately account for collaborations and strategic transactions.

Implement and customize financial systems as necessary.

Continually evaluate opportunities to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness in the monthly and quarterly accounting close process, ensuring a balanced workload.

Develop, manage, and mentor a high-performing team that drives continuous improvement and fosters a collaborative mentality.

Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee the successful completion of the year-end audit.

Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for management review and timely filings.

Create and maintain an SEC and statutory reporting calendar, coordinate key timelines and deliverables, and work collaboratively with various business partners to ensure timely, accurate, and complete filings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

10+ years of related experience, with required experience in the biotech industry.

Big 4 CPA with a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.

Strong knowledge of SEC Reporting and US GAAP.

Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Experience with various financial systems, preferably NetSuite and Coupa.

Ability to manage complex objectives and team goals in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.

Ability to work closely with a senior management team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
