Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Senior Accountant with a focus on Construction Accounting to join our dynamic finance team. This role will play a crucial part in managing financial information and ensuring the financial health of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction accounting, with a deep understanding of project cost and project cost-percentage of completion.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Oversee and manage all construction accounting related activities, including project costing, job cost reporting, and percentage of completion accounting.
2. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
3. Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
4. Coordinate with project managers to confirm financial status and forecast of projects.
5. Investigate and resolve project budget variances.
6. Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
7. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions and prepare documentation for external auditors.
8. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
9. Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and cash flow.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant - Construction Accounting position will have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction accounting role with a focus on project cost and project cost-percentage of completion.
3. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including the construction industry's unique aspects.
4. Proven experience with financial software and databases. Proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
5. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
9. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
10. A proactive team player with a positive attitude.
