Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Division Payroll Manager to join our team in the Engineering industry. This role requires a high level of proficiency in payroll management, a keen understanding of financial audits, and a strong commitment to maintaining an accurate and efficient payroll system. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably in the Engineering industry. Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the entire payroll function for the permanent division, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
  2. Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures and records, identifying any discrepancies or issues and taking appropriate action to rectify them.
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations relating to payroll, including tax laws.
  4. Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with senior management on payroll strategies and solutions.
  5. Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee queries about payroll issues or concerns.
  6. Prepare and submit reports on payroll activity to senior management.
  7. Manage and supervise payroll staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  8. Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, promotions, and terminations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably in the Engineering industry.
  3. Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  4. Strong knowledge of auditing principles and methodologies.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  6. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  7. Proficient with payroll software and other related financial systems.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  9. In-depth understanding of all federal and state regulations relating to payroll procedures.
  10. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
