Jobot is partnered with a Real Estate and Development Group in Newport Beach, CA that's looking to add a Senior Property Accountant. This position is hybrid with an option to convert to full remote but you must be within 25-40 miles of their office in Newport Beach, CA.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience with property accounting, and Yardi. This person will grow into an Accounting Manager role within the next 2-3 years.

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Property Accountant with a focus on multifamily properties to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with a leading company in the finance industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling the accounting for our property portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and providing financial support to the property management team.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Property Accountant - CAM Recs, you will:

  1. Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  2. Conduct monthly and annual reconciliations, ensuring accurate allocation and recovery of all property expenses.
  3. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for assigned properties, ensuring all financial data has been recorded accurately.
  4. Collaborate with property managers to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  5. Review and approve tenant billings and adjustments.
  6. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
  7. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
  8. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting and reporting process.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Property Accountant position should have the following qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting.
  3. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, particularly as they relate to property management and CAM recs.
  4. Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
  5. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.
  7. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  8. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate and address issues before they escalate.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
