We are actively seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in employment law, labor law, and civil litigation. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of legal issues, providing legal advice and support to our construction operations. This role requires an individual who can handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal counsel and guidance on matters related to labor and employment law, including but not limited to, employee relations, wage and hour law, employee benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment and other state agency claims, and labor relations.
  2. Represent the company in civil litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trials, and appeals.
  3. Develop and implement employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  4. Conduct legal research and analysis on various labor and employment issues.
  5. Handle labor disputes, grievances, arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
  6. Provide training and education to company personnel on labor and employment law issues.
  7. Review and negotiate contracts and agreements from a labor and employment perspective.
  8. Provide strategic legal advice and support on a variety of business matters.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Admission to the state bar.
  3. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Labor & Employment Attorney
  4. Extensive knowledge of labor laws, employment laws, and civil litigation.
  5. Proven experience in handling civil litigation cases, from inception through trial.
  6. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex legal issues.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  11. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
