We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in the construction industry. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our company's financial health. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a bustling and vibrant work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and accruals. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Finance Director and will work closely with other members of the management team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  1. Overseeing all financial operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
  2. Preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial statements.
  3. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  4. Conducting regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
  5. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  6. Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  7. Managing the budget process and conducting financial forecasting.
  8. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
  9. Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
  10. Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  11. Interacting with various departments and providing financial information and guidance as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role should possess the following:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA would be a plus.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
  3. Proficiency in financial statement preparation, accruals, accounting, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
  4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  5. High proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and interact at all levels of the organization.
  8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  9. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
