Required Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience in fundraising, scholarships, or donor relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree and experience with donor base management software is preferred. Community college experience is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.
Provide leadership to develop and maintain an alumni organization in support of the College, including fundraising initiatives, programs of interest, events for the College community. Developing the organization will require organizing, enlisting, and maintaining an active advisory council of not more than 50 members representing various Colleges, Schools, Programs and organizations within Daytona State College.
Create and implement fundraising strategies, including clear goals, objectives, timelines, and evaluation metrics for alumni growth in giving to the College and participation. Organizes the College’s Employee Giving Program, maintaining active participatory roles in College Constituency Groups as a way of encouraging giving back to the College.
Assist in building and growing giving programs, together with the leadership team of the Foundation, including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors and corporations. Requires documentation of rating and screening procedures for prospects with highest giving potential.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and customer service skills
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to develop and meet goals is required
Experience with developing and managing budgets is required
Knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as Microsoft Suite and donor database management software, such as Raiser's Edge
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible to meet the demands of the College
Take direction as well as work effectively and professionally on their own
