Description
The Facility Buyer reports directly to the Procurement Manager and is responsible for:
Promote a safe work environment by leading by example .
Manage the Materials Requirements Planning by managing the spare parts replenishment
Create Purchase Orders, Request For Quote, Manage Vendors, Negotiate pricing and Outline Agreements and supply agreements
Supports mill operations and maintenance through management of spare parts, services and receipt and issuance of purchased materials/equipment
Manages Repair and Return Program and Vendor Managed Inventory Programs
Identify and implement opportunities for optimizing storeroom inventory, storage conditions, and processes. Solve problems and implement systems to prevent recurring issues.
Conduct professional vendor management to ensure good communications, problem resolution, and obtain the best value for goods and services.
Position will also be part of purchasing department and will support mill operations by purchasing facility requirements and services as needed assigned.
Develop storekeepers to improve results and accountability through training, warehouse skills, customer service and procedures
Requirements
Qualifications for this position include:
3+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in an industrial manufacturing operation SAP experience required Warehouse experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Outlook) Knowledge of maintenance/operations planning processes Knowledge of accounting, financial and internal controls a plus Ability to wear required personal safety equipment Flexibility to work extended hours
