Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Drives the Town of Castle Rock's passenger trolley for special events.Creates a positive experience for riders through professional and courteous behavior.Assists people getting in and out of trolley on an as needed basis.Maintains trolley in a clean condition.Advises passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.Resolves passenger emergencies or disruptions.Drives trolley over specified routes or to specified destinations according to pre-determined time schedules.Parks the vehicle at loading areas so that passengers can board and unload.Prepares written reports on traffic accidents, trolley bus incidents or similar events.Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and corrects any identified safety or operational issues.Performs other duties as assigned or required.Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Two (2) years' work experience driving a bus, trolley, or similar vehicles; or any equivalent combination education, training, and experience.
Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
A valid Colorado Driver's LicenseA valid Colorado Class C CDL with "P" endorsementKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to safely drive, maneuver and park the trolley.Ability to work safely and effectively without direct supervision.Ability to make appropriate safety-conscious decisions when responding to vehicle breakdowns and emergencies.Ability to work variable work shifts including evenings and weekends.Ability to follow written and oral directions.Ability to follow specified routes and time schedules.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and to provide exceptional customer service.Ability to produce information in written form.Physical Demands:
Moderate to heavy physical work to including ability to lift 75lbs or less, carry 75 lbs or less, push and/or pull 50 lbs or lessFrequent performance of activities requiring a full range of body movement including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, and/or twistingFrequent hand/eye coordination to operate tools and electrical equipment as well as for driving equipment and vehiclesVision for reading, recording and interpreting informationSpeech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizensWork Environment:
Works both indoors and outdoors with exposure to all weather conditionsRegular exposure to dust, noise, and chemicalsEquipment Used:
This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employmentMust satisfactorily complete a driving record check and criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
