Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assists with selection, training and supervision of all Swim Team Coaches and Aides.Communicates with parents via parent meetings and newsletters. Drafts and distributes monthly newsletter to all parents and participants.Provides customer service and responds to parent concerns. Organizes parent volunteer services and supervises these services at all Town sponsored events.Coordinates swim team practice schedules and supervises practice sessions.Processes participant registration and team entry forms. Assists in processing league fees and insurance documents.Coordinates all team photos and orders all team uniforms and awards.Coordinates team gatherings and end-of-season award banquets/parties.Attends league meetings, representing the Town of Castle Rock with Mountain High Swim League.May be required to perform emergency first aid and life-saving techniques.Performs other duties as assigned or required.Minimum Qualifications:

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

One (1) year of swim team experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

Licenses and/or Certifications Required:

Must hold the following American Red Cross certifications: Water Safety Instructor (WSI), First Aid, CPR/Professional Rescuer, AED and Administering Emergency OxygenKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of Mountain High Swim League rules and regulations.Knowledge of Swim Team and Swim Meet manager software.Ability to utilize a variety of advisory data and information, such as Town and Parks and Recreation policy and procedural policies.Ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership.Ability to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to problem resolution.Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with participants, parents, coaches, aides and coworkers.Effective communication skills.Knowledge of and ability to physically perform various rescue techniques and life-saving procedures.Physical Demands:

Ability to physically withstand extended periods of time in the pool and pool areaOccasional physical work lifting no more than 10 poundsOccasional lifting, carrying, walking and standingOccasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawlFrequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipmentVision for reading, recording and interpreting informationSpeech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizensWork Environment:

Exposure to temperature extremes, varying weather conditions, chemicals, water and other conditions found in the pool areaEquipment Used:

This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment.

Must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
