We are seeking a Configuration Management Assistant

This job is located on-site at the Washington Navy Yard, DC.

This position is in the Aircraft Carrier Design and Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05V) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). This position will be at the Washington Navy Yard The incumbent serves as assistant to the Ford Class Aircraft Carrier Configuration Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to Ford Class aircraft carrier Configuration Manager in the review of change documentation including slides describing the change in detail, specification changes proposals (SCP), Hull Modification Requests (HMR), and Schedule A and B change requests.

Candidate must be highly motivated, independent, and self-starter, able to manage their own projects and coordinate the work with multiple engineers. Must be comfortable managing multiple projects at one time with competing schedules.

Coordinate with Systems Engineers, Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, and HII-NNS to resolve system configuration matters.

Maintain change documentation and change tracking files correct and current.

Qualifications

(Requirement) Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience with US Navy, US Coast Guard, or Military Sealift Command vessels.

(Desire) Configuration Management experience in ship systems working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command, Regional Maintenance Center, and/or Type Commander supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of machinery control systems.

(Desire) Experience working with technical authority.

(Desire) Experience working with ship program offices in a technical role.

· (Desire) Previous carrier or alternate navy ship/submarine technical experience.

(Desire) Strong writing and communication skills

One must have good interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team.

(Requirement) Active Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
