The Sr. Network Security Engineer provides engineering and operational support for corporate infrastructure security systems. The position requires advanced-level performance as a Subject Matter Expert for Cisco-based firewall and VPN technologies, the ability to analyze firewall logs, scrutinize network traffic, and troubleshoot escalated incidents and service requests. The Sr. Security Engineer researches and resolves security issues and vulnerabilities. The engineer will also conduct routine and as needed user and network activity audits. The position requires the engineer act as Tier 3 level escalation point for junior engineers and analysts, mentoring where needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS5-7 years of Cisco security experience3-5 years of Cisco networking experience3+ years experience deploying and managing deploying Cisco security solutions3+ years of experience identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities3+ years of experience performing investigationsExcellent understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, routing, and switchingExcellent understanding of Cisco firewall, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to troubleshoot securityproblems independentlyAbility to properly handle confidential and sensitive informationEDUCATION / CERTIFICATION PREFERENCESBachelor's degree in information systems or comparable experienceCisco professional certification(s) required (eg.
