We are actively looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Honolulu office. As part of the Civil Group, the Civil Engineer will lead and manage projects from design conception through construction close out on a wide variety of project types, for both the public and private sector, including ports/marina infrastructure, roadways, buildings, airports, bridges etc.

Duties and responsibilities:

Manage multi-discipline project design teams for projects across the Pacific, including subconsultants, and establish priorities, schedules, and scope of work
Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of multidiscipline projects with varying degrees of technical complexity
Leads and manages construction projects by preparing engineering design and documents and confirming specifications
Interface with clients as needed for successful project delivery. Address client requirements and manage client expectations regarding scope, schedule and quality on projects
Communicate with staff and subconsultants to establish work priorities for projects
Designs construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models
Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs
Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction site, and verifying calculations and placements
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering from an accredited university degree program
15 + Years of Experience as a Civil Engineer
10+ years of project management experience
Professional Engineer (AICP, PP, PG, etc.) licensure in Hawaii or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire

Microsoft Word and Excel
Competence in general civil engineering design is required including roadway, paving, grading, drainage, H&H, water and sanitary sewer
Ability to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
Availability and willingness to travel
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:
$165,924 to $202,796 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Hawaii, markets.
Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
