Department: SafetyReports to: General ManagerStarting Salary: $68,000Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Development:
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures.Conduct regular reviews and updates of safety policies to ensure they remain current and effective.
Risk Assessment and Management:
Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments to determine appropriate safety measures.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
Training and Education:
Design and conduct safety training programs for employees at all levels.Ensure all employees are aware of and comply with safety policies and procedures.
Compliance:
Ensure the company complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.Maintain records of safety incidents, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Incident Investigation:
Investigate accidents, injuries, and incidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures.Prepare detailed reports and make recommendations based on findings.
Safety Audits and Inspections:
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices.Identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Emergency Response Planning:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.Coordinate and conduct emergency drills to ensure readiness.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and present regular safety reports to management.Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and compliance activities.
Safety Culture Promotion:
Promote a culture of safety within the organization through continuous communication and engagement.Lead safety committee meetings and initiatives.
Budget Management:
Manage the safety department budget, including the allocation of resources for safety equipment and training programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a safety management role or similar position.Experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
Certifications:
Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar are preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Effective communication and presentation skills.Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Work Schedule:
Safety Managers are required to have flexible schedule availability to ensure safety needs are met. Schedules may be adjusted anytime to meet the needs of the operations, but management will work with you to find a balanced and predictable schedule when possible.Compensation & Benefits:
Personal phone use reimbursement of $40 will be issued monthly for using personal phones for job-related tasks.Health Insurance: To support your healthcare needs, we offer reimbursements for health insurance premiums. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are provided through Thatch's ICHRA, starting on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.You will accrue paid time off, in the form of sick hours and vacation hours, which you can use for vacations, personal time, or illness.
