The Director of Human Resources

The Director of HR and Communications will lead the Human Resources and Communications functions across multiple locations in the northeast and south-central regions of the U.S. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support the company's values, goals, and objectives, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring effective communication across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, employee relations, and communications with a proven track record of leadership within a dynamic, multi-location environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement HR strategies in alignment with the company's business objectives and values, emphasizing talent acquisition, employee engagement, retention, and development.

Cultivate a positive work environment by employing effective conflict resolution techniques, implementing employee recognition programs, and driving engagement initiatives while ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across various states.

Oversee recruitment processes to attract and retain top-tier talent, collaborating with hiring managers to define job roles, craft job descriptions, and conduct interviews.

Manage performance management systems, ensuring employees receive regular feedback and support for their professional growth.

Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and facilitate career progression.

Supervise the administration of payroll, compensation, and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.

Implement and manage comprehensive succession planning programs to cultivate a robust pipeline of leadership talent throughout the organization.

Champion a high-performance culture that aligns with the company's core values, leading change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and minimal operational disruptions.

Optimize the HR function and team, modernizing and refining key processes and activities.

Mitigate organizational risks by utilizing external legal counsel when necessary.

Provide guidance, coaching, and counsel to managers and staff in addressing employee concerns.

Mediating employee relations and performance issues.

Offer HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of HR Dashboards and metrics.

Develop and manage internal communication strategies to facilitate effective and transparent communication across all locations.

Spearhead initiatives to elevate the company's employer brand both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in HR, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR management and corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within the logistics or related industry.

Preferred certifications: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification.

This position requires full on-site presence from Monday to Friday.
