A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Tax Controversy Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in tax disputes, audits, litigation, and appeals. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in federal income and estate/gift tax issues, along with a strong academic background and excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with law firm, accounting firm, IRS, Tax Court, or Department of Justice (Tax Division) experience. A degree in accounting, CPA license, or LL.M. in Tax is strongly preferred.Duties:Handle tax disputes, litigation, audits, and appeals.Provide legal counsel on federal income and estate/gift tax issues.Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and courts.Conduct legal research and analysis.Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and appeals.Represent clients in IRS proceedings and Tax Court.Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies.Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.4+ years of tax controversy experience.Practical experience with tax disputes, audits, and appeals.Strong academic and employment credentials.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Admission to practice law in at least one state (Georgia is a plus).Degree in accounting, CPA license, or LL.M. in Tax (preferred).Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Degree in accounting, CPA license, or LL.M. in Tax (preferred).Certifications:Admission to practice law in at least one state.Skills:Tax controversy experience.Legal research and writing abilities.Communication and negotiation skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Case management and organization.
