This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a passion for technology and intellectual property law to grow within a dynamic legal team.Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications related to product design, user interface technologies, and cutting-edge innovations.Conduct patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and provide counsel on patent portfolio management.Collaborate with clients in the fields of software, artificial intelligence, IoT, networking, quantum technologies, and related sectors to develop strong patent protection strategies.Review and analyze technical documents and research in areas such as electrical engineering, computer science, and physics.Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters, including patent infringement, enforcement, and licensing agreements.Stay up to date with developments in patent law, especially in areas related to software, AI, and emerging technologies.Draft responses to office actions and handle communication with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Support senior attorneys in patent litigation cases and other intellectual property matters as needed.Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.Participate in client meetings and help develop and maintain client relationships.Requirements:

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.Strong academic background with a focus on law and engineering/technology.Proven experience in preparing and prosecuting patents in software, AI, IoT, networking, or quantum technology fields.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to convey complex technical information to both legal and non-legal audiences.Experience working in a fast-paced law firm environment, demonstrating attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, developers, and business leaders to understand and protect innovative technologies.Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.High academic achievement in both law school and technical education.Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.Admission to the Texas Bar or ability to become licensed in Texas.Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience in software-related technologies, including applications of AI and machine learning.Familiarity with IoT (Internet of Things) and networking technologies, as well as their patentability considerations.Exposure to or direct experience with quantum technologies, including quantum computing and communication systems.Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and analyze complex technical subjects in patent applications.Familiarity with U.S. and international patent procedures and laws.
