is seeking an
Associate Attorney
to manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes in
general civil litigation , including
real estate litigation ,
contract litigation ,
business litigation , and
construction litigation . The attorney will be responsible for handling cases through all stages of litigation, from initial consultation to trial and appeal. The ideal candidate will have trial and deposition experience, strong writing skills, and be admitted to the North Carolina Bar.Job Responsibilities:
Manage
general civil litigation
cases, including
real estate ,
contract ,
business , and
construction litigation , from case intake through trial and resolution.Draft and file legal documents, including
motions ,
pleadings , and
appellate briefs .Conduct
legal research
and write memoranda, ensuring that court filings are timely, well-supported, and persuasive.Represent clients in
court hearings ,
mediations ,
depositions , and
trials , advocating on their behalf in a variety of civil litigation matters.Argue
motions
and present evidence in court, negotiating settlements and pursuing favorable outcomes for clients.Conduct
depositions
of witnesses, opposing parties, and experts, preparing thoroughly to extract key information to support case strategy.Meet with
prospective clients
to evaluate their legal needs, provide advice, and discuss potential legal strategies.Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to manage case files and ensure deadlines are met.Prepare clients for
trial , providing legal advice on potential outcomes and guiding them through the litigation process.Handle
appeals
by drafting appellate briefs and conducting legal research to support appellate arguments.Requirements:
Minimum of
Juris Doctor (JD)
from an accredited law school.Admission to the North Carolina Bar
is required.Trial experience
and
deposition experience
are preferred, with the ability to manage cases through to verdict.Strong legal writing skills , with demonstrated experience drafting motions, briefs, and legal documents.Proven ability to manage a
diverse caseload
and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment.Strong
oral and written communication skills , with the ability to argue motions and represent clients in court effectively.Organizational skills
and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely case management.Education:
Juris Doctor (JD)
degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the North Carolina Bar
is required.Certifications (Preferred):
Certification in
trial advocacy
or coursework related to
civil litigation
is beneficial but not required.Key Skills:
Expertise in
general civil litigation , including real estate, contract, business, and construction litigation.Strong
research ,
writing , and
oral advocacy skills , with the ability to present legal arguments clearly and persuasively.Experience in
trial preparation ,
deposition strategy , and
