In living this philosophy, APU engages in evaluation and purposeful investments in:Quality of work environmentMeaningful work, feedback, and valued contributionMonetary compensation for time and effortBenefits that add to quality of lifeThe right-fit employee for APU is someone who shares the APU values and mission, desires to be part of a small team, works hard but values time off and a work-life balance, and is looking for a meaningful work experience.The Admission Processor provides administrative and customer service support to assist in the daily functioning of the Admissions Office.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIESImport new prospect, applicant, and admit records as they arrive.Ensure integrity of Admissions processes and workflows, including established communications plans and internal/interdepartmental processes for new students.Assist the Director and Assistant Director in training student workers.Receive application files from Student Records Specialists for communication sequencing and review completed applications for admissions decisions or escalation.Update prospect, applicant, and admit records as necessary or as directed by Admissions management.Oversee the department's use of SIS systems and the processing of prospective and student information data, ensuring that data entered into the systems are accurate and timely for use by various departments across the university.Clarify policies and procedures concerning the admissions processes of the University.Conduct research and generate reports for the Office of Admissions as directed.Generate mail, phone, and email contact lists as requested.Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the database for outreach and reporting purposes.Create and maintain communication plans for prospective and newly admitted students.Assist in the coordination and implementation of communication plans for all prospects, applicants, and admitted students.Maintain admission publication materials for the University.Work with other divisional offices to support and maintain the internal flow of information.On an as-needed basis, fulfill Admission Counselor duties in providing information to prospective students, arrange and participate in visits to high schools in Alaska, and make presentations about the University and its programs to appropriate groups and organizations.KNOWLEDGE and SKILLSSkill in data entry, with both accuracy and attention to detail.Skill in customer service.Skill in effectively communicating with both internal and external customers.Skill in multitasking.Skill in working both independently and as part of a team.MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONNon-Supervisory: Two (2) years general office experience required.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSPossess a current Alaska driver's license, or ability to obtain an Alaska driver's license.
