Brook House, Enfield, CTABOUT THE PROGRAM:

Brook House is a community-based group home that provides 24-hour staffing and a built-in therapeutic component for 6 girls, aged 14-21 who have experienced trauma and loss, who have serious emotional and behavioral problems, and who have lived in more restrictive programs or institutions. Brook House allows the girls to live in a more normal, natural setting within a community while providing a high level of support and structure.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates an understanding of child development relevant to the age group of the home worked in, and intervenes to promote development.Supports family/kinship connections by welcoming parents, relatives, and caregivers on visits.Forms and maintains positive, nurturing relationships with youth by building trust and supporting competencies.Teaches and supports the learning of a broad range of skills including emotional regulation and age-appropriate activities.Demonstrates an understanding of complex trauma and its effects on youth.Contributes to creating an emotionally and physically safe environment.Supports routines of youth through assisting and supervising daily activities.Transports youth when necessary.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or Associates degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.Experience:

Substantial childcare experience required.Licensure/Certification/Registration:
